New monitor

Last week I was wondering if part of my headaches might come from my monitor. After talking it over with my wife yesterday, we decided to get me a new monitor and hope I'm right about that. The old monitor I used to have was an Hansol 720p. It's a good, decent 17"monitor that projects a very nice image on 1600x1200 @ 75Hz. But because I'm a lot behind the computer lately, the radiation the CRT monitor might give could cuse headaches. So I bought a new one. An iiyama ProLite E2208HDS. This one is a full HD monitor with an extremely fast projection (2ms) and lots of other options. After trying my games the first time, I thought the monitor's quality wasn't as good as expected, but playing with the monitor's settings I found out how to optimize it for gaming. Now it rocks! Below are 2 screenshots I made with the new monitor (Fallen Earth & Lord of the Rings online). ![]() There is a problem with Lord of the Rings online though. When I zoom out far, and turn around, the area (mostly in the distance) seems to be a bit choppy. I don't know why, but I think my CPU is now clearly becoming a bottleneck ![]() On the bright side. If my headaches will stay away, I could resubscribe to Aion: the Tower of Eternity and hope the chaos I experienced earlier was caused by the old monitor. |
