Finally, after a long search I found something that's close to Lineage II but brand new. Well, brand new..? It's a Free2Play Asian MMORPG that took quite some time to get translated to English. I'm talking about Seven Souls online. I found this one yesterday evening, downloaded the client, installed it and updated and (as I do always), after the whole thing is installed and up-to-date, I'll register an account. Now there I was in for a bad surprise... I had a message telling me that they don't 'service my region'. WTF? We're talking a Free2Play Asian MMORPG here hosted in the US! So I decided to do some digging and see on the how & what of this MMORPG. It appears that it's only names Seven Souls online in the US. The original (translated) title is Martial Empires and that's a name I recall of having seen somewhere with an European publisher: Gamigo and Gamigo is a problem... Well, problem..? Actually, Gamigo is NOT the problem, but the problem is that I've played 3 of their MMORPG's before and they were all quite dead: Black Prophecy - This was a real promising Free2Play title and during (early) beta the servers were quite active. But after release the servers got empty and I haven't touched it ever since. Shame though, because it's a real good title. War of Angels - An other Asian MMORPG translated to English *AHUM* sorta like English that is. I think Google.Translate does a better job in translating the dialogues Anyhow, the game was quite dead from the beginning during beta and ever after.NeoSteam - I might have mentioned this one long ago on my blog. Quite a nice title, but Gamigo didn't really put the effort in it that Altus did. As a result, the title died after a year (I just saw that Altus has canceled it as well by now). Back to Seven Souls online (or Martial Empires if you want), I am kinda sad that this (very good looking) Lineage II clone is not available for me, unless I play on a (probably) dead server. Well, I pass for playing on dead servers - been on way too much of those and don't want to start on one again. ...perhaps I should give TERA a try and hope that they'll fix that annoying 'toggle' flag for PvP on PvP-servers... |
