2 hours from now, the 3rd and last beta weekend will start. But as much as I want to attend, I don't see any cause for it. That doesn't mean I'll logon though ![]() Reasons for me NOT to play in this beta weekend is pain and simple down to 2 reasons. 1. As always, I don't want to spoil too much of the game by playing extensively in the beta's. Since I 'got into beta' only because I pre-purchased, I'm not really obliged to participate ![]() 2. With this beta weekend, the servers have been wiped. This would mean I have to restart all over (my previous char was level 5 *LOL*) for an event that will take only 3 days... Of course, there are reasons to logon for half an hour as well... This alone is a reason to hobble around for half an hour and see how the performance will be on my system. Though I think it'll run good, I just want to make sure about it. In the past, my FPS didn't come above 15 when 'out in the open' (20 if I was real lucky), and I want to make sure that ArenaNet did keep it's word on the GPU handling. Then there's also that odd toggle of DirectX 9 in the GW2 setup. I understand that when the CPU handles graphics, you can't really implement DX10 or even DX11 (since those are handled by special processors on the GPU), and I hope that with this beta, DX10/11 will be implemented as well. |
