Finally, I've managed to get a second-hand AMD Phenom X6 1090T Black Edition processor for a decent price. On eBay these beauties are sold second-hand for the price that's around the price they were new when in store back then (€190). But the one I found was not on eBay, and my offer of €125 was accepted almost immediately (it did kinda startle me too). About 3 hours ago I installed it and got it running. But it's not really running at the 3.2Ghz (yet), only because I have no idea what settings to use on the mainboard. I've set it all to 'default' in the BIOS and the beauty is now running at 2.9Ghz, which is a huge improvement over the old AMD X3 2.7Ghz ![]() Coming weekend I'll install that ASUS tool that I have to safely experiment with over-clock settings on my mainboard. Lets see what's needed to get this beauty to run on 3.2Ghz, and if I can push it further than that as well without having it heath up too much. |
